Middlebury Stays at #5

Speaking of rankings, U.S. News and Report released their 2008 rankings at 12AM this morning. Middlebury College maintained our #5 ranking attained last year, this year tying with Carleton College. Williams (eek!) took the #1 spot this year in the Liberal Arts category. It should be noted that Middlebury is part of the Annapolis Group, which expresses concerns about the ranking system as a whole.

Interesting to see how this pans. Lots of questions as always with ranking systems. Middlebury may attribute an increased number of applicants to our higher ranking last year. Maybe even our larg(er) freshman class?

More commentary to follow tomorrow as MiddBlog is posting this at 2:56AM and, for once, is tired and wants to go to bed.
