Hail to the Chief?

Only seven days until Chief Justice John Roberts comes to Midd. Today, Secretary of the College John Emerson (who?) sent out an email detailing the procedures for attending the historic event. The school will be setting up two "satellite locations" (Dana and BiHall) where a live video feed of the talk will be shown because not everyone wants to be one of the 750 sardines packed into Mead's deep pews.

Of course the only key phrase left out of the email is the actual procedure for getting into Mead: "first come, first served." Oh, Midd. So you decide to issue tickets for non-packed events in the CFA Concert Hall but, let's just let the students make a line around Mead Chapel for a few hours before the event. I mean what's the worst that could happen? The beginning of the semester bookstore line? Maybe we should follow Economics Professor William Pyle's advice and allocate spots in Mead via lottery (since the school doesn't want anyone to pay for the event which would be properly allocate via an auction).

Rumor has it that a select few students are getting the opportunity to dine with the Chief Justice while he's at Midd. Where'd they find these students? Who's got the in? Apparently, the parliamentary debate team...

If you're mad about missing out on dining with the Chief Justice perhaps you can also get riled up about the fact that you won't get anyone nearly as controversial interesting to talk for your graduation so just give up hope for that right now...
