It's Coming Out Week!
Wednesday: Wear jeans to support to MOQA and then head to Carr Hall at 9:00 p.m. for a social event featuring (brief) icebreakers and Coming Out Experiences.
Thursday: Screening of But I'm a Cheerleader at 8:00 p.m. in BiHall. This is a fantastic movie.
Friday: Party in Pearson's Lounge 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Saturday: Panel discussion at 2:30 p.m. in Mitchell Green featuring students and their parents to talk about issues (being supportive, being out on campus, etc.) followed by a mixer.

Interesting move with the "wear jeans" campaign which I first heard about here:

Except instead of "wear jeans if you're gay" as mentioned by Seth Godin in the blog above, it is "wear jeans if you support MOQA." I think the potential for discussion/conversation about sexual identity and gay rights is high but students don't really know about the campaign so it's not as effective.
That's an interesting point you make. The e-mail about Coming Out Week, which was sent to the middlequeery listserv, says, "Wednesday WEAR JEANS! (and thank everyone who is wearing them for supporting us)."
So, I guess wear jeans if you're gay and wear jeans if you support gay people . . .? But if you don't know about Coming Out Week and you wear jeans, but you're not gay or you don't support gay people, who will the MOQA members know who to thank?
Actually, the point is to thank people who are unitentionally wearing jeans. Since almost everyone wears jeans every day anyway, it is a way of spreading their message.
