Canceled Class?

If you're one of the lucky ones, your teacher has already canceled class because of our 12 inches of snow overnight. Otherwise, the Midd staff is digging you out as I type this at 7:47AM. Plowing crews are out clearing sidewalks and staff are clearing entryways. College Street is plowed every half hour with snow still falling. The question, now, is whether teachers can dig themselves out of their houses to get to class...

UPDATE 1 (2/14/07 1:20PM): numerous emails have gone out to warn students, faculty, and staff to stay safe with the crazy weather (officially a blizzard). President Liebowitz has encouraged staff to go home early. Teachers are cancelling class at their discretion. Up to 10 more inches of snow cold fall by tomorrow on top of the 15+ inches we've already received.

UPDATE 2 (2/14/07 3:47PM): conditions have worsened. Near white-out status is near. Do not go outside unless you have to. Snow drifts continue with high winds. Snowshoers are the only real way to get around. Some cross-country skiiers can't cope. Going up stairs or hills are tough. Good luck getting to dinner! Stay safe and warm. Don't go out alone...
