MiddKids Phone Home

Middlebury got a shoutout in yesterday's New York Times in an article entitled: "In College, You Can Go Home Again and Again." Psych prof Barbara Hofer's research was cited, and it turns out we communicate with our mothers/fathers an average of 10.4 times a week. Here at Midd, we love our families dearly. Samantha Pack ('09.5) also got quoted as saying:

“Students at Middlebury and elsewhere actually really enjoy talking to and miss their parents. ...being in college allows them [students] to reflect on their experiences growing up and makes them see their parents for the first time as equals, rather than overbearing, disciplinarian caregivers who constantly nag them or ‘cramp their style.' ”
